Operational Performance of a Compact Proton Therapy System: A 5-Year Experience.

Executive summary

A Mevion center reported the utilization of their compact PT system. A total of 850 patients were treated in 5 years. A total of 25,567 fractions were delivered averaging nearly 419 fractions/month. Main disease sites include Breast 83 (9.8%) CNS 264 (31.0%) H&N 107 (12.6%) Prostate 246 (28.9%) Thorax 100 (11.8%)  Pelvis or Abdomen 46 (5.4%) and Extremities 5 (0.5%). This report also provided details of beam-specific metrics, such as range, modulation, and air gaps, QA and uptime.
