Executive summary
A Consensus Guidelines for Implementing Pencil-Beam Scanning Proton Therapy for Thoracic Malignancies on Behalf of the PTCOG Thoracic and Lymphoma Subcommittee. The importance of PT in sparing healthy tissue was recognised and guidelines to realise the full potential of PBS-PT in thoracic patients were put forward. The panel identified two major challenges: range and motion uncertainties and the tissue heterogeneity of chest, and recommended several strategies before implementing IMPT and PBS-PT.
